Abstract: (Ultra-)luminous infrared galaxies, or (U)LIRGs, represent a short-lived yet critical phase in galaxy evolution. Among them, hot dust-obscured galaxies (Hot DOGs), discovered by WISE at high redshift, are among the most infrared-luminous galaxy populations known. Hosting rapidly growing supermassive black holes and often accompanied by intense star formation, these systems provide unique laboratories for studying the co-evolution of galaxies and black holes, as well as the possible transitional “blowout” phase. In this talk, I will first present our work on the black hole properties of high-redshift Hot DOGs, followed by our recent discovery of Hot DOG analogs in the nearby Universe through improved selection methods and systematic searches of infrared survey data. These local analogs offer a rare opportunity to investigate the physical mechanisms driving Hot DOG-like systems in much greater detail. To explore their connection with lower-luminosity infrared galaxies, we are conducting follow-up studies and analyzing IRAS-selected sources using multi-wavelength data. Finally, I will briefly discuss our participation in the LSST survey and how its deep optical imaging will open new avenues for investigating the host-galaxy properties, structures, and evolutionary connections of infrared-luminous galaxies. 

Bio: 李国栋,北京大学科维理天文与天体物理研究所博士后,博士毕业于中国科学院国家天文台,博士期间受中国科学院大学资助前往智利Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) 大学留学1年,研究方向为红外星系演化、AGN反馈等,目前为LSST巡天AGN项目团队成员,拥有丰富的射电、光学和红外望远镜观测和数据处理经验。作为第一作者,在ApJ期刊上发表4篇论文,合作文章19篇,总引用573次。
